The Path You’re Traveling

Checkpoint

Whether you are playing along or simply reading, let’s have a look at how things are going so far.

If you are keeping a journal, review it now. Look at the storylines you have chosen, any items or stories you may have equipped, and what your scores are if you’ve assigned any. If you haven’t and would like to, you may do so now.

If you aren’t keeping a journal, simply recall what you know of the book and the story so far. Set it down and just remember. Don’t look back or reread.

For my part, I am going to make a list of all the chapters so far and link them on my Substack site. If you’ve got only the print version, then it will be here somewhere, either right below, in the front, or in the back.

If you’re enjoying yourself, consider upgrading to a paid subscription.

If you’re not, thank you for the time you’ve given to it and for the effort you put in. Not everything is for everyone, and that’s okay. I still appreciate it.

All right, so now that we’ve caught up with where you’ve been and are, let’s have a look at where to go next. You can:

  • Continue on with your own story, using the map as your guide.

  • Keep reading in order.

  • Follow the “Who Killed Wendy Glass?” storyline.

  • Get into the ghastly tale of “The Long-Awaited by Some, Probably Brand New to You, Revelation of the Complex, Bizarre, but Astonishingly True Nature of the Semi-Malevolent Entity Known as Dwizaal.” It’s a supernatural themed story, kind of in the style of a gothic tale or ghost story. But you know, weirder.

  • You can help me to “Escape from the Library Eternal,” which will include a retread of some material from SOMA, albeit in entirely new prose, and a get-you-up-to-speed rundown of who’s who in the Lost City of Soma, as well as how I came to be stuck in the Library. Then, we’ll get into the business of getting me out ASAP. There will, of course, be complications.

  • And then we have the continuation of the stories from the park:

    • The photoshoot

    • The fast car out of the city

    • The picnic

Decide which you’d like to do this go ‘round, and which you might want to save for later. You can write it in your journal, if you want.

If you’re going to read linearly, then you will get them all, but not necessarily in order. So buckle up, baby.
