April Effing Fools
I detest April Fools Day. Maybe it’s because I was bullied as a kid. Maybe I just don’t like pranks. But it seems to me to be a lowkey The Purge-style day where unbridled assholery is celebrated.
Admittedly, it has gotten milder over the years and seems to be mostly online now, and largely corny jokes or yawn-y marketing attempts. But those things aren’t great, either.
Ello historian Bill Petro gives us its origin story, if you’re interested.
Not a lot else to say about this one. What about you? Hate it? Love it? Lemme know.
Also, if you wanna talk about The Slap Heard ‘Round the World, I guess that’s a thing we could do. I’m on vacation as of today, so, whatever.
Xoxo,
